Sophie looses 2nd tooth today

r
Sophie lost her 2nd tooth today and there was much more drama this time. Let me start with a prologue. We went to a birthday party at the Sweet Shoppe, an adorable candy shop in Carmel. It brought back lots of childhood memories for me by the way. They had bins full of old fashion candies and the kids were in heaven. The kids had a fantastic time at the party but during the party they put two large marshmellows on a stick, dipped it in chocolate then they all were able to roll it in whatever candies they wanted. When we got home Sophie was eating hers and she came to me crying...."I swallowed my tooth, Mom...am I going to be ok?" She was so scared. I rinsed her mouth and calmed her down, reassuring her that she was going to be ok. Just as she was about to start playing and forget all about it I looked over at the remaining candy on a stick and guess what....the tooth was sticking out from the side! Never a dull moment around here. She's super excited for the tooth fairy's visit again.

Princes Ball

Tonight was a special night. Ian and I attended a "Princes Ball" just for mom's and their sons. Ian had a really good time. The fun started with getting dressed for the dance. Sophie and Ian kept feeling my legs because they've never seen me in panty hose. :-) Yes, I actually wore a skirt. I haven't done that in a while.

Ian loved getting all handsome and thought it was really cool to wear a tie. He was adorable. He was so sweet through out the night, always thinking of Sophie. "Sophie would like this or that, can we bring one home for her?"

He enjoyed every thing but musical chairs. He was out after the first round and he walked off with the biggest frown I've ever seen. I should have taken a picture of that.

The most precious part of the night was seeing all the mom's dancing with their little men on the slow songs.....almost brought tears to my eyes. I can't believe how fast my little baby boy is growing.

Oh boy, the last two weeks have been a challenge with all of the snow, our routine has been thrown out the door. We actually got somewhere around 9-10 inches in the last week here in Westfield. We've survived and threw it all the kids have had a good time (as you can see by the photos). As for John and I, it's been more difficult to alter our work schedules to deal with school closings and delays. In the end, it's not a big deal...it's just part of living in the midwest. Here are some recent photos....

I've also included just a few of the photos of Sophie's school work. I have decided to take photos of her work and record it that way because it is impossible to save EVERYTHING. She has been doing a fantastic job this year, very positive feedback coming our way. We are proud of her. We have just started something new with Soccer but she has been taking piano biweekly in our home (very low key, I might add) and is about to start piano in a studio weekly in Feb. We're going to do a month trial to see how she responds. If it goes well then we'll be doing piano weekly through mid June....at least. She has a strong interest in music. So, we're feeling confident musical interest will not stop there.

As for Ian, he is LOVING soccer and preschool right now. I have am one of the room moms and we have a fun Valentines Party scheduled. Ian and I have a lot of mom and son stuff planned next weekend.... more to come.....
